Gwinnett County Reviewing Gun Ban

GCO member and Gwinnett County resident Stephen Neisler contacted his county representative, Commissioner Mike Beaudreau, regarding the county’s preempted gun ban.

Sec. 78-32. Weapons prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to take on a recreation facility any weapon, or to shoot, use, carry or employ any weapon or similar device in a recreation facility.  

Commissioner Beaudreu has directed the Gwinnett County  Department of Community Services, which runs the parks in Gwinnett County, to research the preemption issue.  GCO will update this issue as further information becomes available.
