A federal judge has denied Fulton County Probate Judge Pinkie Toomer’s first motion to dismiss GCO’s lawsuit challenging the Georgia statute prohibiting issuing GFLs to nonresidents. Fulton County Probate Judge Pinkie Toomer has filed a second motion to dismiss GCO’s class action against all probate judges in Georgia over the state law prohibiting non-residents from obtaining GFLs.
GCO has filed its opening brief in the Supreme Court of Georgia in an appeal of the orders of the Superior Court of Fulton County regarding GCO’s lawsuit against Fulton County municipalities for banning carrying firearms in parks.
Federal Court Dismisses Airport Case
U.S. District Judge Marvin Shoob granted the City of Atlanta’s motion for judgment on the pleadings and dismissed GCO’s lawsuit against the city over whether the city may arrest GFL holders for carrying guns in the unsecure areas of the Atlanta airport.
